The short version

Your projects, your rendered slides and video, and publishing stay on your Mac. When Bearousel writes for you, the text being written, your taste profile, and your provider key for that one call pass through our generation server on the way to Anthropic or OpenAI. So do the images it needs to read: screenshots and link previews you give it to learn a look, and one still from each B-roll file it tags. Loud Unicorn LLC stores none of it. Our logs hold request ids, timings, the name of the step that ran, and status codes. They never hold your text, your key, or your email.

What we store

When you buy or activate Bearousel, we store the name and email you provide, your license record, and identifiers for the devices activated on that license. We also keep the records needed to handle purchases, refunds, fraud prevention, and support. When you start a trial, we use the address you type to mail your key. The generation server keeps a scrambled record of that address and your Mac, so asking again sends the same key instead of making a second trial. That server never stores the address itself on disk. To spot a shared key, the server also keeps a scrambled record of the network addresses each license is used from, for one day. The scramble cannot be undone, and no reply is kept on disk. If you use Send a report in the app, it packs the app log, the engine log and the last requests to our service into a mail draft, with your license key, AI key, email address and file paths taken out. Nothing is sent until you press send in your mail app.

This website

If you ask us to hold the launch price, we use the address you type once, to email you the link through Resend. This website does not keep it. To show the launch price once per visitor, the site sets a cookie of its own and may keep a scrambled record of your network address for up to 90 days. That record cannot be turned back into the address.

Who handles that information

Stripe processes checkout, taxes, and subscription billing. Keygen stores license and device activation records. Resend delivers license and support email. Loud Unicorn LLC runs this website on Cloudflare. Loud Unicorn LLC runs the generation server that writing requests pass through, and the AI provider you connect, Anthropic or OpenAI, receives those requests and answers them. Each provider processes the information needed to perform that job under its own terms and privacy policy.

Your AI and social accounts

You connect your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key inside the Mac app. Each writing request goes through our generation server, which uses your key for that one call and then forgets it. We do not save your key, the text you sent, or the result that came back. Rendering happens on your Mac, and publishing goes through your Buffer account straight from your Mac, so we do not receive your social login details or the images and video Bearousel produces. Insights pulls your posts' numbers from Buffer to your Mac. When you paste a link to learn a look, your Mac fetches that page's preview image directly.

The website demo

The taste-preset demo on this site uses fixed sample slides stored with the website. It makes no AI calls and does not send anything you click to us or anyone else.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies. Visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing is measured until they allow it. We never send your name, email address or license key to Google.

How long we keep data

We keep purchase and license records while your license is active and as long as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Support messages are kept as long as they are useful for resolving the request.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy or correction of your account information, or ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep. Email support@bearousel.com.
